The cottage is a small, peaceful space on our property, originally part of a 15th-century home.
It has its own entrance, a log fire for colder evenings, and a quiet outlook over the garden, with the surrounding countryside just steps away.
Guests are welcome to take slow countryside walks, read by the fire, sit in the garden, or simply rest in the cottage — everything you need for a gentle, comfortable stay.
You may find a few simple breakfast items in the cottage when available, such as bread, eggs, fruit, or tea.
Check-in and check-out times can be flexible with advance notice.
We live nearby and are happy to help if you need anything during your visit — otherwise, the cottage is fully yours and offers complete privacy throughout your stay.
About us
We are Nicky and Richard, and we’ve lived on this land for many years.
Our home is an old countryside cottage next door to the guest cottage, surrounded by acres of fields and woodland.
We are both retired from the horse world, and now simply look after the small herd of horses that live peacefully on the land. They are part of our daily life.
We care for the place quietly and keep things simple. If you need anything during your stay, we are nearby and happy to help — otherwise, you’ll have full privacy and space to unwind.

Pigmund Cottage is located on the peaceful Hooks Green property in the tiny Hertfordshire village of Clothall. The land is part of a small, privately owned countryside estate cared for by Nicky and Richard, who live in their own separate cottage on the property and look after the surrounding fields and gardens.
The guest cottage is fully self-contained, with its own entrance and private outdoor space, offering a calm and quiet base for your stay. You’ll find countryside walks, open views, and plenty of fresh air just steps from the door.
Despite the rural setting, Baldock’s mainline railway station is only a five-minute drive away, with frequent trains to King’s Cross, St Pancras, and Finsbury Park. If you are travelling by train, taxis are readily available to bring you directly to the cottage. Upon arrival, you can settle in with a small welcome refreshment and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
